The Wedding of Donna & Steven at As You Like It Jesmond, Newcastle
A chilly day in November took me to Jesmond where I had the privilage of photographing Donna & Stevens wonderful unique and intimate wedding. Their choice of wedding venue was “As You Like It, Jesmond” – for those of you who haven’t been it’s a wonderfully dark and cosy venue with an amazing mix of stylish and shabby chic.
Definately another challenging venue to photograph a wedding at due to the unforgiving low intimate lighting. My head said use a flash but my heart said don’t – and for the whole I managed to refrain. My most natural photographs are captured using natural available ambient light and this is always my preferred way – but sometimes the very odd bit of distracting flash is needed.
The day went without a hitch and everyone made me feel more than welcome there. A very intimate and touching ceremony that I feel genuinely honoured to have captured. All in all, a great time had by all and I even got a pint of Guiness bought for me when I finished. Result.
